License Agreement and Copyright Notice for House Plans and Project Plans
All of the house and project plans on coastallivinghouseplans.com are protected under the Federal Copyright Act, Title XVII of the United States Code. Each of our house designers retains title and ownership of the original plan documents and retains the copyright in the plans, which includes the right to control copying and alteration of the plans as well as construction of a house based on the plan. The house plan licensed to you may not be resold or used by any other person. Whether you have the right to copy or modify a house plan or to construct a house based on a plan depends on the type of plan you choose to purchase.
Copying and Modification Rights
To obtain the right to copy or modify a house plan, you must purchase a PDF Plan Set or an electronic CAD File. When you purchase a Pricing Set or a Construction Set, you do not have the right to copy or modify the plan.
Construction License and Compliance with Codes
When you purchase a Coastal Living house plan in the form of a PDF File, CAD File or Construction Set, you, as Licensee, obtain the right to use these documents to construct a single house and for no other purpose. Coastal Living authorizes the use of these plans expressly conditioned upon your obligation and agreement to strictly comply with all local building codes, ordinances, regulations and requirements—including permits and inspections at the time of construction. Due to differences in time and place and continuing changes in national codes, the plan you order may need to be modified to comply with the codes in your area. However, purchase of a Construction Set does not give you the right to modify or copy the plan. To make modifications or copies, you must purchase a PDF Plan Set or CAD File.
The floor plans and other artwork reproduced on coastallivinghouseplans.com are not blueprints. Coastal Living cannot guarantee the accuracy of the floor plans, renderings and technical data—which were supplied to us by the architects and designers—that appear on this site. Therefore, this information should not be used as a guide either for building a home or for securing a building estimate for a particular plan.
COASTAL LIVING DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO ALL HOUSE PLANS AND PROJECT PLANS, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT WILL COASTAL LIVING BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING ECONOMIC LOSS, DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, AND, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURY. No Coastal Living representative or other person has the authority to make representations inconsistent with this disclaimer nor to make any representations concerning house plans, project plans or anything featured on this website, that differ from representations, if any, made by Coastal Living on this web site or in its publications. In the event state law precludes exclusion or limitation of implied warranties, the duration of any such warranty shall be no longer than one year from the date of purchase.
Product Exchange Policy
We want you to be happy with your purchase. Each set of house plans is specially printed and shipped to you in response to your specific order. Consequently, requests for refunds cannot be honored. If, however, you ordered a Pricing or Construction Set of blueprints which, for some reason, cannot be used, we will be pleased to exchange it within 30 days of the purchase date. NOTE: PDF Plan Sets, Plan Customization Sets or CAD files cannot be returned or exchanged for any reason. Project Plans cannot be returned or refunded.
